OUR STORY

The epitome of sophistication and poise, class, and elegance, Mrs. Karen Nicole Henderson was a lady in every way. She was a timeless beauty with substantial grace, character, and dignity.

More significant than her keen sense of style, was her service to her family and the world around her. As a devoted wife and mother to her four children, she proudly touted her occupation as a full-time homemaker. She also ministered to many and had a soft spot for battered women as she was a domestic abuse survivor herself.

Her startling diagnosis of breast cancer would not hinder her service but instead, spur her advocacy for breast health among Black women in the Upstate region of South Carolina. She would often speak at churches, conduct interviews with the media and participate in events sponsored by the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.

During her six-year battle with the disease, Mrs. Henderson would undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment, that of which caused hair loss that could not be reversed nor restored. It was then that she began to rely on jewelry, especially statement earrings, as an extension of her femininity as she embraced her baldness.

Sadly, Mrs. Henderson took her final rest in 2008 at the young age of 44. In addition to a legacy of love and a lifetime of memories, she also left behind an assortment of jewelry to her daughters and future granddaughters. It is this inheritance that inspires the Karen Nicole Collection of fashion jewelry and accessories.

We thank you for shopping with us and supporting a part of her story that will never end!
